Numerical Simulation of PMMA Impact Based on the J–C Constitutive and Damage Models under Hydrostatic Pressure Loading

Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) polymer is widely used in various fields today. In order to reveal the structural impact performance of PMMA materials underwater engineering thoroughly, this paper firstly proposed a simplified plate model for spherical shell hull under concentrative loading. Then, simulate hyper-elastic material properties process, Johnson–Cook constitutive and damage failure were adopted. And least squares method was confirm accurately J–C parameters through test data. Moreover, dynamic process steel bullet impacting structure analyzed by finite element software ABAQUS. The calculation results show that numerical simulation have good convergence, residual velocities at different initial thicknesses plates are agreement with experimental Therefore, feasibility accuracy analysis structures based on models verified accordingly. Finally, presented model, response variation velocity thickness depth; is, has certain linear relationship thickness, even an environment, environment will increase both thicker or higher pressure.
